Speck Graduates!

Hey everybody, guess what?

I graduated from my first ever obedience class tonight!

We learned how to make/keep eye contact, "sit" in the front and both sides, lie down, stay/wait, stay/wait with distractions, loose leash walking, really reliable recall, and hand targeting.

Plus, foster mom has been teaching me "look at that" when I see something that makes me nervous, and "target" a plastic disc to get ready for beginner agility, and then silly stuff like paw, spin, unwind just to keep me on my toes.

but you know what? at the end of the day, she's still more tired than me! HA!

Meet Quid!

Hi there world,My name is Quid and I am a foster dog with the amazing group called NEBCR (New England Border Collie Rescue).

I have been in rescue for a couple of weeks. I am looking for a home where I don't have to live with any other dogs. My foster mom thought that one of my foster sisters might be the problem but i got to visit another foster home for a couple of days and i just don't like sharing my space with any dogs. Can you blame me for 10 years I never did.

That being said let me show you how cool a dog I really am. I am very silly first thing in the morning. Instead of a cup of coffee this is how I wake up.

Please don't let my age scare you away. At 10 you might think I am too old but watch this.

Brenna

Hi everyone!

We did a cool thing yesterday - we walked on water. Well, it was frozen water but we still walked on it. I was kind of interested in the snow mobiles in the distance. I wasn't allowed to chase them but they were fun to watch. I think they are probably faster than me!

Speck does agility + plays biteyface!

I had the opportunity to expose Speck to a little agility this weekend. He was very interested in all the great smells in the agility building at Sugar Bush Farm, (and the silly Roo dog in the crate!) but eventually came to work. He started to learn a target, and is very quick to learn things with the clicker. He was responsive to his foster mom and came back to her, even when distracted. He showed no hesitancy around the equipment, he was pretty fearless. We put the Aframe down low and did a little luring with treats (since he doesn't know the target yet!) Once he got it, he kept going back over the Aframe, again and again! He went through a tire and through jump stantions. He offered the table, and laid down when asked to on it. He shows great propensity for the equipment, and nice drive. He is a natural athlete as well. He would make someone a nice agility dog!

Also, Speck does a heck of a job as a biteyface companion for Tuck, a new dog in rescue (coming soon!)...

Chip

Hey folks! Thanks for stopping by to read all about me! My name is Chip and I'm about 8 years old. My foster mom says that's why no one has adopted me yet. She says, that sounds too old to the people who are looking for a young dog, but not old enough for the people looking to take in a senior dog. Huh?! So, that leaves me, stuck in the middle, and waiting for you!!

I think I'm the best qualities of each. I've got all the energy and enthusiasm of a youngster . . . check me out:

However, once playtime is over, I am really good at curling up and settling in! Just like the sweetest low key senior dog might be!

So, how could anyone not want me to join their family? All sorts of fun and entertainment outdoors, and plenty of cuddle time indoors.

At least, as long as you don't have small intriguing critters for me to obsess over . . . if you do, you might find me staring at their enclosure like this:

<-----That's me, staring at the guinea pig enclosure in my foster home! I can't see them but I can hear them and they sound very interesting!

Plus, I'm really rather silly somet
imes too, so if you need some cheering up, you just need to hang out with me! I mean really, how can this not make you smile?? I am having so much fun! Well, thanks for stopping by and reading . . . now hurry up and fill out an application and email my foster mom so I can get on with my new life with YOU!

Hi - My name is Tye....

The snow is so soft and fluffy. I'm having lots of fun playing in it. I love playing fetch and diving right into the snow face first to find my ball again.

My foster mom laughs and smiles at me a lot - then I get silly and run around as fast as I can.

I bet I can beat that cutie named Keebler in a ball race, I'm also learning to share my toys, but balls are the hardest - I want them all to myself : ) Time to go - I will talk to you again soon ~Tye

Keebler says...

Hiya - I'm Keebler or Keebers as my foster mom calls me. I've been in rescue a while now and I just got moved to a new foster home for a change of pace. I have to tell you, living here has done wonders for me!

I've had to learn some lessons - like how to SHARE toys...

How to live with other dogs - that is my foster foster sister Tela sleeping butt to butt with me (butt is not a swear word Dan) ...

But I can do this -

They let me play indoors

I love frisbee

I dream of frisbee - this is my foster mom

Sorry Emily, I'm jumping on your bed, kind of wet and nasty outside at the moment!

Love,
Keebers

Happy New Year from Brenna!

Happy New Year! My foster mom snapped this picture while we were outside for about 1 minute today. It's really cold up here in western NH. See my whiskers! I ran and ran and ran around outside. If I stopped, I probably would have turned into a pupsicle!

Love, Brenna
