Wren's Special Talents

Hi everyone,

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving because I sure did! We went to my foster grandpaws' house and I got to be very thankful for being able to eat turkey necks and goose poop, run in snow, nip my foster sister's butt while running and snugglez with new people! Anyhow, you already know that I am very, very good at agility. But did you know I am also great at other things? Check this out!

I can flip my tongue like this:

I can make my head disappear like that:

I can make my foster sister dance:

I have a great balance:

Well, maybe not so much (but I am working on it):

And that's all! Bundle up and stay warm everyone!

Roosevelt Needs New Wheels!

Roosevelt's cart has been wonderful for him! He loves the freedom he has in it, running and racing.

Unfortunately, no one had any idea just how hard a young, healthy, extremely active and smart border collie would be on a cart! Even with multiple adjustments from the wonderful folks at Eddie's Wheels, it has become apparent that Roosevelt needs a heavier duty cart! It took them 3 hours to adjust his current cart on Friday, to get it back into alignment so it could be safe and usable until the new one is built.

The new cart will be much heavier duty, able to withstand the abuse that Roosevelt throws at it on a daily basis. It will still need routine maintenance and such - for example he has worn the tread off the tires! This will be something his adopter will need to monitor regularly and replace as needed. But, the idea is that with the heavier duty cart the structural integrity will be maintained, and not require so much adjustment so often.

Roosevelt

Roosevelt
Hiya!  I'm just a regular red dawg, hanging out in the pond, playing ball.

Roosevelt
Hmm, what's that you say, there seems to be something funny attached to me?

Roosevelt
Oh that . . . that's just my wheels of course . . .

Roosevelt
Throw the ball again, wouldya??

Roosevelt
Oh thanks!  Hey, that wasn't the blue ball . . .!

Roosevelt
Who took my blue ball . . .??

Roosevelt
I got it back!

Roosevelt
Such fun!

Can you help us out?

Hi there,

Everyone at NEBCR is busy helping dogs in need so they put me in charge of fundraising. As a former stray and an NEBCR alum, I do have lots of real life experience, so I can handle this. But I need your help. Nope, I am not asking for money. And as tempting it is, I am not asking for frisbees or tennis balls either. All I need is one minute of your time each day. Can you do it? Pleeeease?

You see, NEBCR auntie Kim and her doggie friend Dakota were selected as one of only 47 finalists for a petfinder voting contest. If they get the most number of votes, NEBCR gets $10,000 to cover some of the vet and other bills associated with helping dogs like me. Even if they are not the winners, the NEBCR rescue dogs still have a shot at a $5,000 or $1,000 prizes... can you imagine just how much that is in tennis balls? I am getting dizzy just thinking about it. Anyhow, what I need you to do is go to this link EVERY DAY for the following month and vote for Kim and Dakota http://tinyurl.com/goNEBCR. It's that simple! You will have to register, but all they ask for is a login and password and a date of birth... it only takes a second, and you only have to do it once! So please go ahead and be intense about this as only a border collie would be. Spread the word too!

Please vote and thanks for being a friend of NEBCR! Murphy

Eli's Summer Vacation!

Hi, It's Eli! I'm having a blast swimming, playing and relaxing, but mostly hoping someone will throw a toy for me. Here I am patiently waiting....

In this picture 3 silly puppies are trying to take me for a walk. I like puppies, they really know how to play! However, I did not want to go for a walk, I was still trying to wait for my ball to be thrown.

I like fetching everywhere!

A rare moment of relaxation...I must have been REALLY hot.

I'm still waiting for my forever home to come along, but having a really fun summer!

Check my bio for an update with more pictures and video of me swimming in the lake!

Love,
Eli
